The Company:

Our client is a leading FMCG bluechip business who are looking to employ a quality leader for thier day shift.

This role will report to the Value Stream Manager.

The Role:

  • To form an integral part of the Evening Shift team with a key focus on product quality & safety and the optimisation of the production process
  • Responsible for all Quality Management issues on the shift
  • Continuously challenge the quality system and adopt lean tools and techniques to help get to the root cause of issues and sustain resolution
  • This role reports to the Quality Manager

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine factory-based food safety /quality standards inspections including: Cleaning inspection Pre-start, Line Start up inspection, Fabrication Inspection, Glass Integrity Checks, Foreign Body Inspections and GMP Audits
  • Standardise all structures, work, training, procedures & records in line with the factory H.A.C.C.P.  and lean manufacturing principles. To ensure all customer, third party auditor and external body requirements are incorporated fully into work practices. To ensure all work practices are conducted in a hygienic, safe manner in line with Best Manufacturing Practice in the food industry. To continuously strive for 100% Right First manufacturing
  • Administrator of the SCADA system and monitoring that all CCP's and CIP (Cleaning in Place) parameters are met. Routinely audit the system and carry out verifications.
  • Best Practice Quality Management: To take ownership and manage all aspects of the value stream to meet and exceed best practice in the food industry including but not exclusive to:
    • Calibration
    • Plant & Fabric design and maintenance
    • Allergen Control
    • Product & environmental microbiology
    • Product chemistry
    • Packaging/Coding/Labeling
    • Cleaning

Key Experience and Skills Required:

Essential:

  • Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject
  • Proven track record in a Quality role
  • Proficient in word/excel/trend analysis
  • Robust understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to demonstrate Leadership skills
  • Flexibility

Desirable:

  • S.P.C. Training Certification desirable
  • Experience of designing, implementing, monitoring and improving quality controls
  • An understanding of the principles and tools of Lean manufacturing
  • Robust knowledge of the BRC Global Food Standard and specific customer standards as they apply
  • H&S Risk Assessment Trained

This is a temporary position and salary is negotiable depending on experience.
