National Account Manager – FMCG Business
Location: Dublin
The Role:
Following a recent Management re-restructure, a vacancy has arisen for the position of National Account Manager within our Sales Management Team. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Sales and will be responsible for maximising our sales performance through Key Accounts by successfully negotiating and implementing Joint Business Plans with key customers that fully support the company business strategy. You will be fully responsible for managing the key accounts function and will manage a team of 2 Key Accounts Managers.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop Short and Long term Strategy for the Key Accounts Department consistent with company strategies including share of market objectives, volume and availability
- Manage the Key Accounts budget and seek to improve expenditure efficiencies
- Continually review and develop trading terms to ensure alignment with customer needs
- Ensure full alignment of approach with the sales and marketing functions
- Drive performance through the department by ensuring appropriate stretching objectives are set and achieved
- Develop close working relationships with a network of appropriate trade contacts to enhance levels of trade support and engagement ahead of our competitors
- Continuously develop personal knowledge of the industry and the overall business environment in which our customers trade
- Positively contribute to devising and implementing overall sales strategy
- Develop the team though coaching, mentoring and ensuring development initiatives are undertaken
- Develop a business reporting and evaluation suite on National Account performance
Key Experience and Skills Required:
- A minimum of 7 years Key Accounts Management experience with exposure to head office negotiation across Multiples & wholesale accounts
- Team management experience/leadership capabilities
- Strong knowledge of the Irish FMCG sector and the Retail Grocery Business Environment
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Proficient in understanding financial data with excellent analytical skills
- Strong commercial acumen and problem solving skills
- Inspirational people management and employee engagement skills
- Preferably holds a business degree
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
This is a key senior role with the Sales Management team – we are looking for a strong & exceptional senior National Account Manager to come in and take the lead with key customers.
The package will be in line with a Senior Sales Managegment position.
