New Product Development Manager

Responsible To:  General Manager                                                                                            

Main Purpose of the role:  

Responsible for the generation of new product ideas, moving the Company forward by researching new trends and areas of growth which will be profitable.

Main Duties:

• Lead and develop the NPD team, identifying training needs as appropriate.
• Promote a “can do” attitude within the team encouraging a supportive, problem solving approach
• Staying abreast of food trends & subsequently liaising closely with internal departments to devise future business strategies
• Identify NPD opportunities by market research, analysis and customer liaison.
• Conceive and develop products taking into consideration design, commerciality and technical issues
• Research and procure raw  materials that will assist in the innovation and profitability of the Company
• Manage the NPD department ensuring it is working efficiently and is developed to the highest standard
• Comply with all company & industry requirements pertaining to food safety, quality & legality
• Any other duties as requested by management

Person Spec:

• A strong clear thinking project manager
• An excellent communicator
• Ability to deliver cross departmental projects
• Must be innovative, enthusiastic and passionate about food as well as being able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement within an NPD role.
• Have excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills as well as have experience of people management and development skills
