A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer has arisen with a well established retailer in Co. Dublin. The main focus of the role is creating profitable customer driven ranges and promotions to deliver sales and margin targets.

Responsibilities:

• Developing a business plan that supports the trade plan of your buying area
• Sourcing new products and being innovative within your area
• Focusing on developing a leading product range
• Working with the Technical team to develop own label products
• Plan and trade seasonal buys
• Building and owning sales and margin budgets for your category
• Understanding and delivering your buy for less target
• Developing a strong buy/sell plan with suppliers
• Developing a key supplier base to achieve competitive advantage
• Negotiating product cost and rebates to continually drive down costs for our customers
• Planning and negotiating market leading promotions

Requirements:

• 2-3 years' Buying experience in a fast paced environment
• Strong negotiation skills
• Key commercial skills i.e. Range Management, Supplier Management, Strategic Planning, Financial Acumen, Margin Management
• Analysing data and reporting
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
