Operations Manager – Global Drinks Business

 A leading global drinks business is seeking an Operations Manager for one of their smaller but strategically important sites in Cork. The purpose of the role is to provide inspired leadership and clear direction for all aspects of the operation. Reporting to the Group Head of Production this is a fantastic opportunity to join a group which will offer excellent further opportunity and development.

  • Implement and deliver a sustained and continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance and Culture on site through engagement and accountability at all levels.
  • Drive Operational Performance across all departments to ensure defined site targets are achieved and where possible exceeded.
  • Plan and co-ordinate all aspects of the operation including raw material purchasing, production, inventory management and dispatch of finished product.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and optimisation which will reduce costs while maintaining the highest quality standard and full compliance.
  • Build and maintain high performing, balanced, cohesive and diverse teams that achieve common goals and excellent results.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training is kept up to date for all personnel.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining a detailed rolling 3 Year CAPEX plan for the site. 
  • Ensure all standards in areas of Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental are maintained to the highest standard with positive outcomes to all audits and inspections.
  • Keep up to date on all new and emerging technologies and processes especially in areas of energy reduction, CO2 reduction and water stewardship.


  • 5+ years’ experience as an Operations Manager, ideally in a brewing plant.
  • Experience of managing a multi discipline team.
  • 3rd level qualification in relevant area: Engineering, Science, Business is essential.
  • A formal management qualification, formal brewing qualification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ISO standards and HACCP.
  • Understanding of Automation.

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong IT Skills: MS Office Applications, Email.
  • Excellent negotiation Skills.
  • Strong numerical reasoning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial rules and practices.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Planning and Organisational skills.
