Business Development Manager (Ingredients) - Midlands

We have a new exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a Leading Food Ingredients Business, supplying an impressive range of unique food ingredients solutions to foodservice & food industry customers. 

This person will be covering the Midlands area in Ireland. 

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director. Joining an existing team of solution providers and innovators within the food industry. 

This person will take full responsibility for the ongoing management and sales growth of product materials within the midlands area. 

Full-time, permanent position.

Competitive Salary, Bonus, Laptop, Mobile, Expensed Working Travel and 22 Days Annual Leave.


  • Lead the development and delivery of multi customer strategies to drive area and project growth ahead of the various plans and budgets agreed.
  • Implement material plans, range proposals and new strategic partner projects for the short, medium, and long-term with the customer.
  • Work cross functional with the team internally to complete activities that support customer needs while delivering the required sales and budget plans.
  • Review, track and report on company and customer performances by creating and presenting monthly pipeline and project reports with contingency plans applicable to back up the same. This will be key to ensure a steady profitable business flow.
  • Conduct the necessary research to ensure options and solutions to customer’s needs and requirements. Ensure a close working involvement with key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates all issues and opportunities relating to the customer in a succinct, effective, and compelling manner. Use PowerPoint presentations when given the opportunity to professionalise their market presence and profile.
  • Attend trade shows and meetings with suppliers and customers to demonstrate the company's value that exists within the Island of Ireland.
  • Identify and exploit where commercially viable the short and long-term customer sales opportunities where possible.
  • Demonstrate an active role in driving strategy across all customers by getting involved in wider projects to deliver against the overall business objectives set.
  • Ensure an appreciation of stock and availability for all customers will be required and taking ownership of contracts and supplies for specific customers within your area will be important.
  • Search out and identify ongoing new profitable sales gaps and opportunities.


  • Demonstrable the ability to deliver mutually beneficial value as shown in a previous position in sales, NAM, or BDM role - ideally dealing with food products. 
  • First class leadership, channel development and account management skills.
  • Thrives on the challenge of taking responsibility for all aspects of customer service delivery.
  • Excellent communicator, sales presenter, competent commercial skills, computer knowledge with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and related media.
  • Ability to build and successfully complete project work to benefit the company.
  • Strategic influencer with a relentless drive to improve commercial results.
  • Demonstrate clear examples of profitable and sustainable sales while being creative in building existing and new business growth plans and opportunities.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a dynamic and widely dispersed team.
  • Being flexible to the needs of the business will be important while possessing the ability to work on your own initiative independently will also be valuable.
