Our client is an iconic FMCG food brand seeking an ambitious Sales Manager to lead a team of Area Sales Managers covering ROI. This is an exciting senior leadership role and the successful candidate will lead the Area Sales team to deliver through involvement, supporting and motivating the Area Sales Managers in carrying out their role.

As part of the management team, you will encourage and inspire company change management initiatives to continually improve. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role will manage the business in the ROI through the network of Area Managers and distributors.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To manage a team of Area Managers supported by the Commercial Director.
  • To support, motivate and manage each Area Manager in the carrying out of their responsibilities. 
  • Overall sales for the areas.
  • Appointment of new distributors.
  • Sales driving initiatives.
  • Distributor communication and motivation.
  • Building and motivating a high performing team. 
  • Delivery of commercial KPIs. 
  • Provide authentic leadership through example, ownership, personal integrity, and effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the organisation. 
  • Promote and instil a continual Improvement ethos.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • 6+ years of Sales Management experience in FMCG supply to Retail or Foodservice.   
  • An understanding of our distributor model and the ability to manage and motivate the distributors. 
  • Able to build effective working relationships inside and outside the Company at various levels and accommodate working styles.
  • People management skills are critical.
  • Strong organisational, planning, time management, project management, problem-solving, negotiation and anticipatory skills.
  • The capacity to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and be flexible.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of an interdependent team.
  • Presentation skills including but not exclusive to PowerPoint.
  • Fluency with numbers is important as well as a proficiency in excel.
