We are working with Europe’s fastest-growing food company to hire a Senior Technical and New Product Development Manager.
They have recently invested €30 million in expanding its world-class facility in the Midlands.
Reporting to the General Manager, the individual will lead, grow and motivate a talented team of NPD, NPI, Technical and Quality Assurance staff.
This person will have overall responsibility for managing and supporting the delivery of innovative, high quality products, working closely with all internal teams in delivering business results.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through implementation.
- Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to customers.
- Execute the effective management of all the aspects of scale up trials through the NPI process teams.
- Create and execute development plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Keep account managers well informed of the status of development effort and serve as liaison between development staff and project manager.
- Own the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout projects.
- Communicate and coordinate all NPD activity.
- Coach and mentor the development team in kitchen concepts.
- Manage technical resources within budget and project schedule.
- Develop and implement the next phase of the company’s sustainability programme.
- Coordination of quarterly and annual, internal and external reporting.
- Meet NPD objectives that contribute to the budget goals of the business.
- Meet critical path deadlines on all customer briefs.
- Ensure quick reactive responses to customer enquiries on all aspects of product quality, food health and safety concerns.
- Meet all customer audit requirements (BRC/PIU/Ethical/etc.)
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Lead internal team reviews on product quality and improvement programs.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Third Level Degree in Food Science or similar.
- NPD/Technical/Quality Management experience within the Food Industry.
- Minimum 8 years Senior Management experience.
- Established relationships with Irish & UK Retailers and/or Food Service companies.
- Impressive development & launch achievements.
- Strong Leadership, Influencing, Interpersonal & Relationship Building skills.
- Experience in building, leading and developing teams.
- Proven ability to manage and influence established teams.
- Creative & Innovative with strong attention to detail.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinker.
- Excellent Planning, Organising and Time Management skills.
- Change Management & Crisis Management.
- Understands fully the NPD process and effectively executes all programs through from concept to launch.
